US Synthetic Employee Gets In Shape

Michael Gleason is loyal and hardworking employee at US Synthetic in Orem, Utah.  He recently started meeting with our health coaches when they visit every month.  He has really focused on his goals and has seen great results.  Congrats to Michael!  We commend you on your focus and determination.  Thanks for being an inspiration to us all!

We asked Michael some questions following his success.  Here are his answers...

What motivated you to make changes?

I was headed up to the lunch room to get my daily 52oz of Coke and saw the health coaches and decided to see what they had to say, I knew I wasn’t in the greatest shape but they told me my health age was much older than my actual age and that I was at risk for heart and cancer problems and that I had high blood pressure. But I’d say the biggest motivator for me was that one day I started chasing my daughter around and this little 2 year old was getting me a little winded and I just didn’t want to get to the point where I couldn’t play with my kids.

What changes physically/mentally/emotionally have you noticed?

Since I started working out I’ve defiantly noticed a change in my cardio and resting heart rate. Also just my confidence has gotten a lot better not having to worry about sucking in my gut when I’m around people. Physically since I started in October I’ve lost 30lbs. and 9% body fat.

What are you doing for your exercise and nutrition program?

I exercise between 4-6 day a week at Gold’s gym rotating cardio and upper/lower body routines. I usually do about 30 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of weight training each day.

How did the Corporate Wellness Program help you?

It really just gave me the information that I needed to get motivated enough to make a change. For a long time I knew that’s what I needed to do but it took someone being honest and up front with me to really open my eyes to the path I was on. Also it’s nice to have a day each month that I can track my progress and get help when things get tough.

What would you say to others who are considering joining the Corporate Wellness Program?

Definitely do it! There’s no better time to make a change in your life than right now. Having the help of the coaches is good to share your progress and get better ideas of what to do different
