Fight the Flu!

As the seasons are changing, now is the time to fight the cold and flu! In a recent MSN Health article, "14 Ways to Avoid Colds & Flu", they offer some great tips to build up immunity.

Flu-Fighting Tips

  • Wash your hands often - especially after shaking hands with people
  • Avoid touching your nose and eyes - common places for germs
  • Sleep - get your full eight hours every night
  • Consider getting a flu shot - talk to your doctor
  • Get regular exercise - relieve stress and enhance immunce fuction through cardio and strength training
  • Stay away from sick people - don't let them infect you
  • Sanitize - carry alcohol-based wipes or gel
  • Don't sneeze on your hands - sneeze and cough in the crook of your elbow instead
  • Manage your stress - do relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, yoga, or even massage.
  • Eat healthy foods! - to boost the immune system, eat dark leafy greens, broccoli, kale, carrots, citrus fruits. Eat a balanced diet everyday.
