Fight the Flu!
As the seasons are changing, now is the time to fight the cold and flu! In a recent MSN Health article, "14 Ways to Avoid Colds & Flu", they offer some great tips to build up immunity.
Flu-Fighting Tips
- Wash your hands often - especially after shaking hands with people
- Avoid touching your nose and eyes - common places for germs
- Sleep - get your full eight hours every night
- Consider getting a flu shot - talk to your doctor
- Get regular exercise - relieve stress and enhance immunce fuction through cardio and strength training
- Stay away from sick people - don't let them infect you
- Sanitize - carry alcohol-based wipes or gel
- Don't sneeze on your hands - sneeze and cough in the crook of your elbow instead
- Manage your stress - do relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, yoga, or even massage.
- Eat healthy foods! - to boost the immune system, eat dark leafy greens, broccoli, kale, carrots, citrus fruits. Eat a balanced diet everyday.
